Elizabeth is a fully certified Pilates instructor with the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute (APPI) and thus practices a form of ‘modified Pilates’. This means that teaching can be easily adapted for pain, pathology and function, therefore increasing accessibility of the Pilates exercises for everyone. Pilates is based on a set of key principles which exercise the whole body. Classes focus on these Pilates principles which include body awareness and posture, precision and control of spinal and whole-body movements, breathing control, continued flow of movement, as well as graduated core strengthening.

Our goal at Elizabeth Alexander Physiotherapy & Pilates (EAPP) is to restore your mobility, keep you moving, enhance your physical fitness and psychological wellbeing with an effective, efficient and stress-free approach. There is a large focus on aiding the functional movements of everyday life. Therefore, EAPP classes focus on exercises to combine mobility & strength enabling your body’s natural movement patterns to become more effective and efficient. Every class has a different focus giving you a variety of sessions such as Chair and Barre, Stretching and Mindfulness, Upper body strengthening, whole body release and relax, HIIT and higher-level core challenges and much more...

 

At EAPP you can feel assured that exercises will be performed safely, effectively and modified when possible to the appropriate level for you under the expert guidance of a Physiotherapist with over 12 years’ experience.
